Lil Wayne & Drake’s Financial Records Get Exposed in Legal Battle
Due to the nasty legal battle between Jas Prince and Cash Money, we all get to peep behind the curtains of the financial records of Drake and Lil Wayne.
It all started in 2007 when Jas Prince discovered Drake and signed him to Aspire Music Group. Shortly after, Cash Money approached Drake wanting the Toronto native to join their roster. However, in order to fulfill their desire, the label had to agree to pay 22% of all Drake’s advances, net profits and other advances to Jas Prince and Aspire.
As stated by Prince himself, Cash Money owes him $4 million and he filed suit for breach of contract, because they didn’t pay him the due.
In light of the recent development of the case, Aspire and Cortez Bryant released financial records, which details how much is spent behind the scenes for Drake and Lil Wayne.
According to the records received by The Jasmine Brand, back in 2011, Andre 3000 was paid a total of $100k to do a guest spot on the song “The Real Her” featured on Drake’s second album Take Care, while the producer T-Minus was wired the amount of $90k for his work on three songs for the same LP.
During the same period, Aspire has dropped nearly $50k on airfare for a single month. But surely one of the most intriguing costs by the AMG is the paid total of $32,438 on a Christmas present for Lil Wayne’s mom. Sadly, the mystery surrounding the gift in question will probably remain unsolved.
Moreover, during Wayne’s performance in the city, he was paid $12,426 to stay at the Hotel Amrath Amsterdam and loaned $20k to cover personal expenses along with $1,218 the rapper spent at Best Buy.
