The National Chairman of All Nigeria Peoples Party, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, said on Monday that the party was being repositioned to win the 2015 general elections.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Onu made this known to party members during an interactive meeting of Ebonyi chapter of the party at Uburu in Ohaozara Council Area of Ebonyi.
He said the party had mobilised men and materials in preparation for the nation’s general elections slated for 2015.
The chairman added that the party would do eveything within the ambits of the electoral law to capture political power in the next general elections and urged party loyalists to remain steadfast and committed to the cause of the party.
He said the party was discussing with major opposition parties for a merger in order to wrest power from the Peoples Democratic Party.
“We are not against any political party. What we want is the protection of the best interest of the majority of our people,’’ Onu said.
Onu said the 13-year-rule of the PDP led government in Ebonyi had been an abysmal failure in the areas of human and infrastructure development.
He said, “Roads in the state are death traps, our hospitals are non functional while our schools lack adequate teaching and learning materials.
“Workers are not properly motivated, corruption has become the order of the day among the political class.
“Our great party, the ANPP is built on the foundation of justice. We will ensure that the hopes of the masses of Ebonyi people are restored when we take over power.”
The interactive meeting was attended by state party chairman, Mr. Emenike Orji; member representing Ezza/Ishielu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Peter Ede, among others
